CNC Machining Cost Estimator
Get a quick ballpark for a machined or fabricated part from its size, material, process, and quantity. It is a rough self-serve range to sanity-check budgets — not a quote. When you need a real number, upload a file and verified U.S. shops will price the actual part.
Estimate a ballpark
A rough self-serve range from part size, material, and process — not a quote. Real pricing depends on geometry, tolerances, finish, and lead time. Get an actual quote below.
Enter the part's bounding-box dimensions to see a rough range.
Turn this estimate into a real number: upload your drawing or STEP file and verified U.S. shops will quote it.

The range combines three things: material cost (stock volume × density × price per pound, with an allowance for waste), machine time (a base setup plus time that scales with the volume removed and the part's complexity, at a typical shop rate), and setup amortized across the quantity. The ±35% band reflects how much real geometry and tolerances move the number. It is intentionally conservative — use it to ballpark, then quote the real part.

Frequently asked questions
- How accurate is a CNC cost estimate?
- This tool gives a rough order-of-magnitude range from part size, material, process, and quantity. Real machining cost depends on exact geometry, tolerances, setups, fixturing, finish, and lead time — factors a drawing or 3D model is needed to price. Treat the number as a sanity-check, then get an actual quote.
- What drives machining cost the most?
- Machine time (driven by material removed and complexity), material cost, and setup amortized over quantity. Tight tolerances, many setups, thin walls, and special finishes add cost; larger quantities lower per-part cost as setup is spread out.
- Can I get a real quote?
- Yes — upload a drawing or STEP file and verified U.S. suppliers will quote the actual part. No transaction fees; you source directly.
