- What is ISO 2768?
- ISO 2768-1 defines general (default) tolerances for linear and angular dimensions that do not carry an individually specified tolerance on the drawing. It lets a drawing stay clean: instead of toleranceing every dimension, the title block calls out a class — e.g. "ISO 2768-m" — and these deviations apply to the rest.
- What do f, m, c, v mean?
- They are tolerance classes from tightest to loosest: f = fine, m = medium, c = coarse, v = very coarse. Medium (m) is the most common general-machining default.
- Does ISO 2768 cover angles too?
- Yes — ISO 2768-1 also specifies general angular tolerances, given by the length of the shorter side of the angle. This chart covers the linear-dimension table; specify your class (e.g. ISO 2768-mK) and the angular limits follow from the standard.
